Adding Transitions to Slides and Layers

A slide transition is the visual effect that occurs when you move from one slide to the next during a presentation. You can control the speed, add sound, and customize the look of transition effects.

Add Slide Transitions to Enhance Your Presentation

  1. Select the Slide: Choose the slide where you want to add a transition.
  2. Choose a Transition: Go to the “Transitions” tab and select a transition. A preview will be shown automatically.
  3. Customize the Transition: Click “Effect Options” to adjust the direction and nature of the transition.
  4. Apply to All: To apply the transition to the entire presentation, select “Apply To All.”

Remove a Transition

  1. Select the Slide: Click on the slide that has the transition you want to remove.
  2. Remove the Transition: In the “Transitions” tab, select “None” from the Transitions gallery.
  3. Remove All Transitions: To remove transitions from the entire presentation, click “Apply to All” after selecting “None.”

Change a Transition

  1. Select the Slide: Choose the slide with the existing transition you want to change.
  2. Select a New Transition: In the “Transitions” tab, select a different transition effect.
  3. Modify Transition Settings:
    • Click “Effect Options” to change the direction or nature of the transition.
    • In the “Timing” group on the “Transitions” tab, adjust the duration and set whether the effect triggers on a mouse click or after a specific time.
    • Add a sound to the transition or apply the changes to all slides using the provided options.
